the last snowfall

This was done from a photo of the last snow of our very long winter, which was only a few weeks ago. I used a limited palette of five colors including white. I don't miss the snow and cold, but I am always amazed at the beauty. Then I realize that right now I am wearing flip flops and how cool is that!

Oh how refreshing, I love winter scenes now that I see all the subtle purples and blues, there is something very serene in a winterscape - but Yes, Spring and Summer are Very Nice!

I hear you on this one. The snow has been gorgeous, but it has been the longest winter I can remember. For goodness sakes! It's warm(ish) and sunny here, and that is lifting everyones' spirits. Beautiful painting, and great color palatte.

This limited palate painting is sOo wonderful. The only thing that would be better would be to see the progression shots. You wouldn't have this-work-evolving pics would you?
Awesome work. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful piece, very atmospheric. Beautiful muted colours and glowing shadows. Hard to believe you only used five colours.
Excellent composition as well – the geometry of the shadows masterly.
I basically like everything about this painting!

Cheers!
