Late summer days

We have had such a wonderful summer here in Maine. I have lived here for many years and I have never seen the sun shine so many days in a row like it has since early July when I returned from Bali. Of course, some say this will mean a very cold snowy winter (please, no). When you live in Maine you learn to live with very unpredictable and many times disappointing weather. Someone once told me "in Maine we have 11 months of winter and one month of bad sledding". But for now, we are continuing with beautiful sunny warm late summer days through next week. How cool is that!

Jennifer this is so beautiful. I know about weather. Here in Missouri, the saying is if you don't like the weather just wait a bit and it will change drastically.
Hope your day is good.

I've just realized what there is about your work that attracts me so much. You manage to put such "life" into every painting, no matter what the subject matter may be, and this is no exception! Fantastic.....

Love the sunflower!! Congrats on your wonderful summer, too. Of course here (Georgia) we are ready for Fall hah! I always enjoy your sketches.

That IS pretty cool--good for you to get out and enjoy it all. Maine is so beautiful when there is good weather, that's for sure! Love this sunflower, Jennifer--you completely captured it! Sunflowers always make me think of the miles of them I saw all over Italy and southern France.

Wonderful painting! Everybody seems to enjoy sunflowers at the moment. :) I like the intense colors. It really looks like a little version of the sun, so bright and with those yellow "rays of sunflower-light" spreading out in the right... This just really says "hot", "happy", ..."SUMMER"! <3

Lovely sunflower! I almost started dancing when I saw the weather forecast for Houston and there wasn't one day above 98 and the humidity is supposed to stay below 75% for at least a while. Today, at 98, it felt just a little like fall! I wouldn't wish our summer on my worst enemy! Though, if you're my friend, I'll gladly wish my winter on you! :D

Gorgeous sunflower! So THAT'S where summer went--Maine! It sure wasn't here in the Pacific NW for long...

Guess it's a little too late to toss some Florida sun your way given your fine weather stress. Love the sun flower! It's on fire!
